June Activewear Highlights + 4th of July Weekend Sales

July 1, 2016 / 25 Comments

Even though summer is just getting started, the spring/summer fashion season is starting to wind down.  There’s a bit of a lull right now–brands are tapering off their new releases as they gear up for the start of the fall fashion season in August (ish).  There’s just a few new things these past few weeks that caught my attention.

Also: there are lots of end-of-season and holiday sales happening!  Keep scrolling for the full report.

Lululemon hero blue inspire tights

Currently loving from lululemon: hero blue!  It’s such a lovely shade of not-quite-navy.  This past week’s lulu upload was jam-packed with hero everything.  You really can’t go wrong with this shade.  Pictured: inspire tights.

Lululemon neon pink pack it in bra

Also from lulu, stuff your bra lovers should keep an eye on the new pack it in bra.  It’s the same from the front, but was modified in the back.  Interestingly, the pack it in bra is marked as medium support for a C/D cup, while the RSYB is marked as medium support for a B/C cup.  Maybe we’ll get extra coverage from the pack it in bra?  I’ll definitely be looking out for more colors.

Carbon38 corrida legging

The Olympics are just around the corner (yessss), and Carbon38 released a capsule inspired by the event.  The designs are reminiscent of what you’d see a professional athlete wearing on competition day, but with decidedly Rio vibes.  I’d say they nailed the Olympic look.

K-Deer Susanne stripe leggings

K-Deer Erike stripe leggings

K-Deer released two new stripes in the past few weeks: Susanne, an appropriately patriotic design for this time of year, and Erika, green and grey stripes with some serious Wicked vibes.  In keeping with the tradition of K-Deer’s charitable giving for their stripes collection, the Susanne leggings benefit a charity that supports surviving loved ones of military members killed in the line of duty, while Erika stripes benefit an animal welfare organization.

Sales!

Like most holiday weekends, there are a ton of sales popping up from online activewear stores.  Since this holiday also coincides with the end of the season, that means even more savings.  Some of these sales aren’t specifically July 4th sales so they might continue on longer.

Only thing about the Pack It In bra is those kind of straps tend to pull on my neck and cause neck pain/headaches :( Besides, the actual look of the strap isn’t as nice IMO. I really hope this is in addition to and a replacement of the Run Stuff Your Bra. I don’t have high hopes since they haven’t released any new RSYB colors past the initial 4 or 5. Just like last year. This sucks.

Yeah I think the tapered look is slightly less clean. It also doesn’t help that the model is probably more of a B cup, so I don’t think she fills it out quite right if it’s made for a C/D–it looks a tad wrinkly. I was hoping for more RSYB colors this year too after all the stink everyone made last year, but it seems like they pretty much gave us a pittance. At least I got neon pink!!

Hm, that’s weird because the home page specifically says ALLDAYUSA. I just tried it and it didn’t work, though. It looks like their codes vary depending on the platform (on insta they posted FOURTH20_IG) so I was trying to use something generic so I wouldn’t mess with their tracking. Looks like my plan didn’t work out, though. Ah well.

Actually, for some reason my browser session wasn’t working. I tried it again and ALLDAYUSA did work!

Those inspire tights are en route to my address right now! As well as the CRB. Such a gorgeous neutral.

I wanted the CRB but didn’t buy immediately because I didn’t feel like spending the money. Of course, now it’s gone. It seems like the size 2s are selling out WAY faster than they used to. I think they’re making less of them. I might order the inspire tights tonight.

Had to order my second blanket jacket. I have it in blue and it’s my favorite to wear on planes. So happy to snatch up the black one! Thanks for the heads up :)

Is the tech fleece jacket TTS for you ? 6:02 description says it fits small and to order one size up. Do you have the blanket jacket ? What size do you have for your blanket jacket and what size did you order for the tech fleece jacket ? Thanks for your help !!!

i don’t have a blanket jacket. i’m usually an xs in tops, but have slightly (okay very) long arms, so i ordered the small in the tech fleece. it is perfect. (i wear a small in all alala jackets, including the tech fleece, and tops, like the flyweight tee. i wear an xs only in the fractal tee, which has really long arms.) i can send you my measurements, if that helps.

AA: as per usual, great round-up!
Maybe some of you can help me with sizing (yet again :)
Am a 6 in LLL Luon bottoms (have to size up for Luxtreme, none of which have purchased cuz their a little too “naked looking” on my imperfect leggings)

    1) Beyond Yoga leggings. Specifically the Lux Dots Long Legging

    2) Carbon38 leggings: the above fabulous printed Corrida legging (which is more than would want to spend on leggings but sometimes…..)

    Thank you!

In my limited experience with Beyond Yoga, I’d say it runs true or slightly large. So, XXS fits lulu 2, XS fits like a 4. All their rises seem to be about like normal rise wunder unders. I’m not sure about the corrida leggings since Carbon38 seems to use varying cuts/materials depending on the collection.

i came to warn against adanola.

you posted them a couple of weeks back, saying you had seen them on instagram and wanted to try them. i’d say – don’t.

they look great. plus, they’re london-based, and i’m in europe. all in all, i was super excited. i purchased two items from them within a day or two.

i only received the package last friday, after being forced to contact the company many many times – over email and facebook message. (they almost never write back.) they promised me compensation for the delivery problem (it seems that they only SHIPPED the clothes last week, even though i got a shipping notification 24 hours after placing the order). but they refuse to answer messages regarding the compensation, even though facebook shows that they’ve seen the messages. to add insult to injury, i just found a hole in the seam of my brand-new pants, which i’ve been wearing for about an hour, working on my computer the whole time.

in short, whatever you see on instagram is paid advertising. the service is awful, and the quality of the clothes is no better. consider yourself warned:)

annnnd of course they immediately put me to shame by offering a great customer service response. i’m not sure how my order got so messed up, but they have now stepped up to redeem themselves. i’m leaving a reply, since i can’t delete my previous complaint on this site.

Alala is having a flash sale today. Bought Blade Tee in Cerise (love the Glacier one, which is a seafoam green), Neoprene Sweatpants, and Everyday Hoodie (back in stock!). Just received the Tech Fleece Jacket. I sized up from XS to S, which is perfect! Now I need to take another break from Alala.
