Splits59 Devon Singlette Tank II in Everest: Review and Color Comparison

March 10, 2015 / 8 Comments

I got a devon singlette tank ii in tidal from Splits59 a couple of weeks ago and loved the new design of the devon.  When the new everest color came out, it was an immediate must-have for me.  Everest is a very pretty shade of green, a jewel tone just shy of a true emerald.  I also am tempted by camellia, a newly released neon coral-red, but decided to hold off on it for now.  Here’s a quick review + pics of everest.

The everest devon fits just like my other devons.  It’s a loose-fitting tank, so you can take whatever size you normally take in streetwear.  If in doubt, I think going for the larger of two sizes is better, since I think this tank looks best worn loosely rather than too tight.  I am normally an XXS in tops (lululemon 2), and S59’s XS works well for me.

One thing worth noting is that the peached poly fabric used in these tanks is pretty delicate.  If you’re not careful, it will snag.

As I mentioned above, everest is a rich green hue.  I initially thought it would be like lululemon’s menthol, but that was pretty misguided.  It’s much richer, not icy like menthol:

This comparison shows the emerald devon tank (center) versus my blue tropics speed shorts (left), menthol speed shorts (right), a menthol headband (bottom), and YogaSmoga crops verdi (top).  Interestingly, YS verdi is definitely the closest.  Note that the pics of me wearing the tank are a slightly better depiction of the true color versus this color comparison pic.

Overall, I really love this one, it’s a definite keeper!  The color will go well with a lot of what I wear.  In these photos, I’m wearing it with my (lululemon) black grape rebel runners, which is really a gorgeous combo.  It also looks gorgeous with inky floral, spring has sprung, bruised berry, and harbor blue.

The Devon looks great and it’s much more flattering on a petite frame than lulu’s 105 singlet.

Did you receive the black cherry (or any other) speeds lately? Just wondering what you thought of the fit.

For sure! I look like a fool in 105F’s, lol. I actually just got black cherry in the mail yesterday. Many have said they run small, but my pair fits perfectly. I guess that’s how it is these days with speed shorts sizing, every pair seems to be kind of a crapshoot. I do want to put together a brief post with my recent speeds purchases in the next few days, which will be harbor, menthol, and black cherry. Quick and dirty version is that harbor is tight through the hips, menthol is tts but a hair long. As always, your mileage may vary…

Fit reviews/ pics are always helpful, so I’m looking forward to your post!

The size variation is definitely a crapshoot. I hate dealing with returns, but I guess that’s part of the game since speeds are the only shorts I wear.

As someone who lives a long ways from a store, I hate returns too, especially because they cost me $5 a pop, not to mention the money held up on my CC for weeks. Definitely not ideal, but just something I deal with. Sadly, I return very little anyway, bahaha.

Thanks so much for the post – nice to see comparisons for color (this post actually made me pull the trigger on Yogasmoga’s Verdi crops) and sizing – I look like a FOOL in 105 singlet since it is so huge, this is a nice alternative. Thanks for all your work and posts!
