Upload 12/11: Dottie Dream Rose Shorts + Base Runner?! + More Seam Catastrophes

December 11, 2014 / 11 Comments

Upload was a bit early today, by about half an hour.  Same story as last week: new stuff is mixed in with Monday’s stuff, but there *is* new stuff!  Also like last week, most of upload was one country getting what the other already had (or what’s already been in stores), but there are a few new and notable things scattered around:

LW7A19S_016512_2

First off, Canada got these dottie dream rose neutral blush speed shorts (4-way).  I think these are super-cute, although obviously there will be a lot of pattern placement variability.

LW7578S_016515_3

Canada ALSO got the solid menthol speeds, as seen in Australia.  Lucky bastards.

I was enraged to notice that there’s no 2 up on the site of dottie dream rose.  This has happened numerous times before but it’s always been on pairs I didn’t want anyway.  So, now I just have to hope that size will be in stores even though it’s not online, although I’ll still have to have someone ship them to me, AND if I don’t like them, that poses a bit of a problem with returning.  WTF LULU UGH.

LW7B36S_016512_3

There’s also dottie dream rose run times, but these are only on the US side.  Also no 2 in these.

LW6A76S_016572_3

Runday crops appeared in parallel stripe, plus another pair with the inverted parallel stripe waistband, which are really cute.  A lot of people have speculated whether lulu will do white parallel stripe wunder unders since they are reminiscent of the ever-popular quiet stripes, but frankly I doubt it because I think they know their fabric quality is not up to the challenge.

Base runner 1/2 zips randomly re-appeared in heathered black herringbone and solid black.  I guess these were old stock from last winter?!  Random.  US only.

LW8480S_017191_3

White pleat to street skirt with om stripe waistband.

LW5G33S_0001_3

Inspire tights are on the US side.

LW5F34S_017120_3

Canada got the dip dye giant houndstooth wunder under pants.

LW5H19S_016998_3

Canada also got these white herringbone skinny grooves.  The black seam is 10x worse on these than the wunder under pants.  Straight-up disaster.

Frosty run gloves appeared in colors.  There’s guava lava (in the pic), and inkwell.  There’s also a special black dot mesh version on the Canada side, which are kind of like the laceoflage frosty run gloves from last year, although obviously a different pattern.

Other upload notes:

– Canada got the textured stripe high times.

– Think fast hoodie in parallel stripe and pique on the US side.

– Also, more think fast PO and LS colors on the US side (nothing we haven’t already seen though).

– Groove pants appear to be on their way out, but there’s a new pair in slate.

– The snapshot tee is $88.  What the what?!?!?!

– Pants now on both sides: feelin’ frosty softshell pants  and better together pants.  US also got rise and shine trousers–please contain your excitement.

– I don’t think the twice as nice skirt was up Monday, but regardless, it is now.

– Still no gratitude wraps!

– Also no capilano stripe or parallel stripe CRB.

Yeah, the Base Runner 1/2 Zip was odd. I ordered the Rise & Shine Boxers. (Kidding.)

I need to get to a store to make some returns & check out some things. The Embrace hoodie with fleece lining is getting hard to resist, though I don’t need it.

Lulu is killing me with all the run stuff. After a night of internal debate, I went back & ordered the mini check pique white Think Fast Hoodie, Ear Warmer & Neck Warmer.

I think their winter run stuff tends to be more irresistible than the summer–besides my beloved speed shorts, anyway. :) Not to mention, you just need to wear more in the winter so it tends to pile on. I think those choices will serve you well, though!

Did the FTBW show up on the U.S. side in stained glass love?

I agree that the black contrast stitching on the white herringbone skinny grooves and WUPs totally ruins them. for me. The black seaming at the back of the white HB skinny grooves looks so ridiculous — unless your legs are perfectly straight, the seams accentuate bow legs or knock-knees. I would love to see the skinny wills in the white herringbone but with a matching color of seams.

Totally true, it’s not going to draw attention to the right things… I really don’t understand who ok’d the black seams. I mean, grey or white would’ve been just fine.

The pink frosty run gloves look a little like dish washing gloves! Those black seams on the white herringbone stuff is def a disaster.

Haha you’re right, the guava lava does make them look like some kind of cleaning glove. The inkwell ones are a bit better.
